I am attempting to build a site for a local non-profit and they have some requirements that are making this a bit of a challenge. What I need to do is create a member portal area where member organizations can communicate and share files and such. I have that covered, but the part I’m having trouble with is that they need a front facing member directory for website visitors to be able to go in and see who all is in the organization. The problem here is that everything I’ve found seems to have its own member system entirely. I am wondering if this plugin (the best one I think I’ve seen so far) can play nice with WP-Client. All I need from this is to allow members to add and update their information, but I need to know if access can be controlled through a different plugin. (Does that make sense?)
We integrate with any membership plugin that correctly adheres to the WordPress Codex implementation of the login and registration API for WordPress. That means a membership plugin must correctly handle the “redirect_to” URL parameter as noted in the codex. We know a few membership plugins do this today: Wishlist Member, s2Member, MemberMouse and RestrictContentPro. Others may as well, we have only verified those on this list. There are two settings in BD you need to check in order to “integrate” with them. Both are under Directory Admin->Manage Options, General tab, “Registration” section. They are the login URL for your membership plugin and the registration URL for it as well.
However, please note that we don’t integrate with roles or permissions on ANY membership plugins at all. So we do not have any special behavior there. That’s something we can consider for future development, but not something the plugin allows for today. Anything beyond ‘login URL’ & ‘registration URL’ needs to be configured from inside your membership plugin.
