I have 3 questions about handling large volume search results:
- How does BDP deal with denial of service attacks from queries that have a large number of rows in response?
- How does BDP deal with pagination of large responses?
- Is there a cap on the number of listings that are returned in the search results?
BD doesn’t specifically try to avoid these situations because we assume that all traffic is coming in through “good actors” rather than bad ones.
We believe that every WP plugin should do 1 job and do it well, so if a site is being attacked, we suggest using a plugin designed to handle that–something like Wordfence, WP Bruiser or similar to handle those situations (because they’re going to be better equipped to deal with that anyhow since they’re focused on security). As for the API record limit, no, we don’t have that today, but fixing security for bad actors would help with that too.
