I am just starting to work with this plug-in after downloading and installing it on a test site a few years ago. I have added custom fields for my tiny site, but I need to be able to organize them in the output listing. I am not sure what this would be called, so I haven't found it in searches of the KB here.
Is it possible to customize the order of the fields in the output listing?
Yes, it is very much possible. You can set the order of field display by using the up/down arrow keys found on BD Admin > Manage Form Fields page:
Hope that helps!
I am using whatever the latest is. I keep auto-upgrade on, and had to do a manual update of this package a few nights ago when I started playing with this. Looks like 5.7.1? It very well could have been a cache issue, combined with something else I just realized.
I think I understand what is going on. The output creates an Address entry using multiple fields (Address, City, State, Zip Code) and seems to hard-code that at the top, regardless of where those fields are. In my tests, I was dragging things to the top and they were showing up after the Zip Code. If Address is specially hard-coded, then that may be what threw me off.
I just made a new field and placed it at the bottom, and looked, then moved it to the top, and looked. It did indeed move, so that confirms it is working. It was just not appearing at the top.
Are there other fields that have build-in rules like that? (i.e., Address combines multiple fields; what else does that?)
Thanks, much! Looking at it differently is useful.
Your observation is correct. We do try to control some of the output by formatting the address in the default theme i.e. it is set to display always at the top.
To override that and to change the layout of the address, you’d need to do a theme customization and allow for the address to show in a separate order. More detailed information on customization is available in the documentation here:
