Jimmy Butts replied to one of your updates:
Once the categories are established, and then populated with entries, individual urls are created for each category which can be found at:
Richard I believe you should be able to do a regular query_post. You'll need the following included in your arguments:
$wpbdmposttypecategory => 'categoryname'
'post_type' => $wpbdmposttype
The 'categoryname' should be replaced with the actual category name. If this does not work please let me know so I can look into it as I'm sure others might come along looking for answers the same question.
This sounds like the same issue I am having. I enter the following shortcode on a page:
[WPBUSDIRMANUI category="Dog Shows"]
What gets displayed is a list of all the categories. The user actually has to click on "View Listings" to actually see the listings. What I need to be able to do is immediately show the listings on the page, without all the other categories, and without making the user click on a "View Listings" button.
Also, is it possible to actually output the listing as a list, one business per line? then if the user wants to pick on one, they can get more detailed info?
the web is http://www.ruashop.com
As stated above, unless i misunderstand your needs, you should be able to achieve via method below:

I don't know if you tried it and it did not work as there was no reply to the original post. If indeed you tried it and it did not work then please provide some more detail as to what you're trying to achieve.
Thks wpbdm for the answer but my knowledge of php is very poor (as my english)..I try this in my code:
query_posts( array( $wpbdmposttypecategory => 'categoryname',
'post_type' => $wpbdmposttype ));
replacing 'categoryname' with the name of the category but it doesn't work...
surely i will make some mistake, thks
If somebody needs...I put this code and it's seems to work
// The Query
query_posts( array('post_type' => $wpbdmposttype, $wpbdmposttypecategory => 'nameofthecategory', 'posts_per_page' => 0 ));
while ( have_posts() ) : the_post();
If there some mistake thkxs to advise
Need some help with exactly the same thing...
@wpbdm - Is there a way of creating a shortcode so that we can add a list of one particular category to each page? The above does not work
