Please go to http://devveebles.pegasusonlin…..directory/ and press the “View” button on the listing.
The individual listing page is coming up blank.
Is there a setting I’m missing or is the plugin not working correctly?
Sorry to hear about this. What version of WP and BD plugin do you have?
It seems like the form fields aren’t showing up in your listing detail view however, they do display on the excerpt i.e. Show All Listings. One thing to check here is whether all of your form fields are set to display in the listing detail view? Go to BD Admin -> Manage Form Fields -> under the Field Attributes column, it should show both “In excerpt” and “In listing” tags. If the “In listing” tag is missing, you can simply edit that form field from the same page and select “Show this value in listing view?” from Field display options.
If that’s not the issue, I’d suggest trying this test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory to see if you can find the cause:
Please try that and report back on what you find.
1) We deactivated all non essential plugins and still not working
2) We activated 2019 theme and it does work
3) re-activated our theme and still the listing page works (http://devveebles.pegasusonlin…..directory/ ) but single listing view (http://devveebles.pegasusonlin…..us-online/) and categories page (http://devveebles.pegasusonlin…..y/general/) are not working.
Can I give you a login to the site and have you take a look to find out the BD is not working? i.e. identify why the DB plugin is conflicting with our theme.
We are under a severe time crunch to get this project done so your timely responses are greatly appreciated!!!
Are you using a ThemeForest theme? I’m asking because we have a known issue with Themeforest-related themes where they affect the behavior and output of BD shortcodes (including the buttons).
We recommend using the Theme Check plugin (available for free on WordPress.org) to validate how WordPress-compliant your theme actually is. The more errors and warnings you see on the theme when you run that check, the worse the theme is. You can read more about it here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-check/
One other option you could try is the compatibility mode on the General tab that simplifies the output of BD for some themes. Go to BD Admin -> Manage Options -> General -> Advanced -> and select the Enable AJAX compatibility mode? to see if that changes anything.
Thank you for suggesting the Theme Checker plugin. It helped us to identify and improve a number of issues within our custom theme. Unfortunately it did not identify the issue – but we were able to identify after additional troubleshooting and comparison with the twentynineteen theme. It turns out the single page template (page.php) needs to have the page content rendered within the WP loop for certain BD pages (category list, single listing) to render, while other templates (main directory list, advanced search) do not require the WP loop – they work with a simple call to the_content(). This distinction is not made clear in the documentation. It might be helpful to other custom theme developers to note that some BD pages require hooks from the WP loop, so for best results always call the_content() within the loop.
