Hi, migration of our modules from one WP site to another worked with the export->import function of the BDP plugin nicely except the “Search by zip” and “Search by category” function we used to have. Client says that’s the most important part. I am new to this plug so thanks for any guidance in advance!
Just to confirm, are you referring to the “Search by zip” and “Search by category” function that appear on the sidebar widget area? If yes, you can enable that by using the Location Search widget found under WP Appearance > Widgets area.
If not, can you please clarify where exactly did you use to have those “Search by zip” and “Search by category” functionalities on the old website? Also, do you have the Zip Search module showing up as installed & activated on the new website?
Unfortunately, I’m not able to view the attached image. Can you please share using http://imgur.com/ if possible? Thanks!
I think it would be best if we take a direct look here. We need the following information to debug the issue:
– WP admin password
– WP login URL
– FTP username
– FTP password
– FTP servername/IP address
Contact us here with that info and a link to this forum thread:
Thanks for getting in touch here.
Do you have access to the account for the site owner? You’ll need to download those modules and install them in order to get that functionality. They can also always access their files at https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/account-management/ by logging in with the information they used when they first made the purchase. They can also reset their password or even register there if needed.
The Purchases tab is the most easy to read and from there you can do anything you’d like to do in the system, including downloads of your modules. The Subscriptions tab lets you handle billing-related items. The licenses tab shows all of your licenses and keys. The profile tab allows you to change information about your account.
Hi we spent $139.98 today on the zip and regions modules, activated them with keys and everything said “successful.” However, nothing works. I spent 8 hours on this today and am pulling my hair out. Please please please HELP ME! I am just totally lost and desperately need help.
The search function, no matter what you enter, says:
“No listings found.”
Even if I type in a known zip code or state. Nothing works. In fact, it just loads the search page with a bunch of fields I have turned off for some reason. WHY?
I uploaded a North America region and tried every freaking setting I could find to no avail. Just says, “regions not available.” No states, no country, nothing. WHY?
Please help, I’m loosing all credibility as a web developer with my client and colleagues because of this 2 month issue that seems to never end.
In order to proceed, we will need your FTP or SSH access.
The reason for FTP access is pretty straightforward: If we’re trying to debug on your server using the WP plugin editor, it’s far too easy to introduce a syntax error into our plugin code. Doing so will take down your site because the WP plugin dashboard is not tolerant of errors after a plugin is installed. If WP goes down, we can’t edit the error out and that will crash your site! We definitely do NOT want to interrupt service on your site, which is why we ask for FTP/SSH access so we can debug safely. Any errors are easily removed and the site restored quickly.
Can you please provide us that access using the contact form here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/? Otherwise, it will be difficult and possibly dangerous to proceed.
The FTP credentials are something that your web hosting company can help with. It may also be called file upload access, SFTP or SSH. You can contact them to help you retrieve those credentials, then let us know.
Here is an article that may help you with this process: http://www.ixwebhosting.com/su…..tp-basics/
Yes haven’t got a response yet – please get back to us because it took us years to plug in all the zip codes for those listings, I’m sweating bullets where the heck the zip codes that took us a year to collect and enter in to the database went. We no longer have the original files (database) anymore so if this is gone I’m dead. Can we search by city at least? We can’t even get that to work.
