Here is the screenshot of my setting.

I have another domain also using this plugin, but this is slightly different issue.
Basically in the index page, it show my category A contain 13 listing (http://bit.ly/O2myXD)
But once i click Category A, it only showed me 6 listing (http://bit.ly/Nl98fu)
I just installed the plugin to test it and have nothing else yet on the site, I get Nothing Found error on my page. You can see the site at http://junglebarn.com I have two test listings “test” , “number 2” and “Home” as a category all sub menus under Sample Page in main menu.
Everything is updated using the Twenty Eleven theme, no other plugins added and stock ones not activated. All settings in directory are default also.

Hi lurkin,
Are your listings (test and number2) both PUBLISHED and set to PUBLIC? If they are draft/private, they will not show up.
Also, did you give them a category when you listed them? How did you list them? From the admin side or the user side?

Yes, they are both published, set to public and I have them both in the Home category.

OK, the issue here is that some of the listings have expired, so they don't appear in the list. In fact, this is because of a previous bug related to MySQL we fixed some time ago. The listings that don't appear have an expiration date in the year -0001, so they have effectively expired. The way to fix is use the “Fee Details” tab under Directory->Directory, select a listing and then click “Edit”, and change the fee so the listing picks up the correct expiration date. The Fee Details tab is on the upper right.

Okay I'm having some trouble too. I have I believe the proper short code as written here https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/valid-bd-shortcodes-2-1/ … The directory seems to load great where I have the short codes posted but businesses with the defined categories will not display. They can however be viewed in the main directory.

Can you post links showing this issue? Which categories are you using? How did you get the IDs for them? Which specific short code are you using?
Also, what version of BD are you running?

The businesses are visible if you view them in the full directory but not on those pages. I used the category names as they appear in the main directory.
Here is one short code I'm using {WPBUSDIRMANMVIEWLISTINGS category= Live Music Venues}… replacing { }'s with [ ]'s. Also {WPBUSDIRMANMVIEWLISTINGS category=Sports Venues}

Hi,
You have to put the category ID after “category=”, not the category name itself. You can get the ID by going to Directory > Directory Categories. If you click on the category you need, you'll see a “tag_ID=” field in the URL. That's the category ID. You just have to put that in the code instead of the category name.
